Lakers Remain Undefeated, Girls Open Friday Night

The Russell County Lakers improved to 2-0 on the season, defeating Franklin Simpson Thursday night at Laker gym by a score of 68 to 56. The Lakers led 29 to 28 at halftime, then outscored Franklin Simpson 16 to 9 in the fourth quarter to get the victory. Tyler Robertson led the Lakers in scoring with 19 points, while Nick Coffey added 16, and Blake Ellis and Blake Aaron each had 12 points. The Lakers will be back in action next Tuesday night at home against Somerset.
Friday night, the Lady Lakers will open their season at Laker gym against Knox Central. Game time set for 6:30 p.m. You can hear the Lady Laker game with John Burdette and Derek Aaron. Pre-game on the radio around 6:20 p.m.
