Lakers End Regular Season 9-1 With 47-0 Win Over Adair

The Russell County Lakers finished the 2011 regular season with 9 wins against only one loss, one of the best records in Laker Football history.  Russell County beat Adair County Friday night 47-0 giving the Lakers their ninth win of the season.  The Lakers head into the opening round of state playoffs next Friday night, November 4th when they host Mercer County at “Ron Finley Field”.

OFFENSIVE STATS (Russell vs. Adair) — (RUSHING) Nick Britt carried the ball 11 times for 165 yards and 4 TDs;  Evan Fletcher carried the ball 4 times for 149 yards and 2 TDs; Lee Cox had 3 carries for 8 yards; Coffey 2 carries for -3 yards. (PASSING) Mann completed 4 of 6 passes for 118 yards and 1 TD; Coffey threw one pass but was incomplete (RECEIVING) Ellis 1 for 24 yards; Whittle 1 for 53 yards, 1 TD; Coffey 1 for 38 yards; Emerson 1 for 3 yards.

DEFENSIVE STATS (Russell vs. Adair) — Short-8 tackles, 3 sacks; Deck-5 tackles, 2 sacks; Bennett-5 tackles; Whittle, Ellis, Hadley and Coffey had 4 tackles each with Coffey getting one QB sack; Stearns-3 tackles; Fletcher, Nealy and Mann had 2 tackles each; Each of the following players had one tackle: Prudente, Adams, Williams, Lawless, Kerns, McCormack, Glover, Cox and Coffey.
