Josh Melson Wins Back-To-School Prize Package
It’s the time of year again where the beach balls are put up and the schoolbooks are dragged out. To make going back to school a little more enjoyable for the students of Russell County Schools, Laker Country, 104.9 fm, WJRS gave one student a prize package of items that included a $50 certificate to Dutton’s Shoe Source, a $100 certificate to Thomas Sports Apparel for Laker items, numerous coupons to local fast food businesses, seasons sports passes and custom embroidery from Itchin’ To Stitch. Also given away was a check for $104.90 from Laker Country, 104.9 fm, WJRS.
The students were required to call in to our studios during regular business hours and provide their name and school information. With over 300 calls from students, ranging from Kindergarten to local seniors at RCHS, the prize package was given away Tuesday morning in anticipation of the first day of classes.
The winner of the “Back to School” Prize Package Giveaway was Josh Melson, an 8th grader at Russell County Middle School. Josh and his friends returned to school today with the rest of the Russell County School District for the first day of the 2011-2012 school year.
