Hannah Lake, a sophomore at Somerset High School and a member of the first-place winning team of The Center for Rural Development’s summer 2010 Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute (ELI) Business Concept Competition was recognized at the 2010 Excellence in Entrepreneurship Awards (EIEA) program on Sept. 13 at The Center in Somerset for the group’s efforts to create a business concept to address the growing problem of obesity across the United States and in Kentucky. Each of the team members received an offer of a Presidential Scholarship from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond for their winning business concept. The overall goal of ELI is to provide participants with the skills they need to become the region’s next business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Hannah is the daughter of Joe and Debbie Leveridge Lake and the granddaughter of Danny and Glenda Coffey of Jamestown.
