Baseball Wins, Softball Loses at Clinton
The Russell County Laker baseball team traveled to Albany Tuesday afternoon for a district matchup with Clinton County. In the game, heard on ESPN Radio 1060, Junior Martin Cross picked up the victory on the mound, going five complete innings, before giving way to Freshman Tyler Robertson in relief who picked up the save. Final score: Russell County 5, Clinton County 2.
The Lady Lakers softball team lost to Clinton County in district competition Tuesday afternoon, final score of 11-8. The JV girls also lost 6-1.
The Laker baseball and Lady Laker softball teams will both be at home on Thursday, both with district matchups against Metcalfe County at 5 o’clock. The Lady Laker game can be heard on ESPN Radio 1060 with Joey Hoover and Shanna Tarter, beginning with pregame around 4:40 p.m.
