Jamestown’s Huckaby named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — On the heels of driving in 13 runs in four games, Alabama-Huntsville senior second baseman Nick Huckaby of Jamestown, KY has been named the Gulf South Conference East Division Player of the Week as announced by the league.
The veteran infielder played a huge role in the Chargers’ 5-0 week including a four-game road sweep of Arkansas-Monticello. Huckaby plated 13 of UAH’s 54 runs on the week along with three multi-hit outings. The senior also was stellar in the field handling 18 chances without an error.
The Chargers open Gulf South Conference action this weekend hosting West Alabama on Saturday and Sunday at Joe Davis Stadium.
