Early Morning Crash Friday Injures Two

Two Russell Springs men were injured in a single vehicle crash early Friday morning on Hales Highway.  According to a report filed by Russell County Deputy Sheriff Jeremy England, 27 year old Chris Stephens was operating a 1999 Pontiac car when he apparently lost control of the vehicle, it left the roadway and rolled onto its side.  Stephens and a passenger, 29 year old Jake McEndree, were taken by ambulance to the Russell  County Hospital for treatment of their injuries.  Deputy England says McEndree was later flown to the U.K. Med Center for further treatment and Stephens was released from the local hospital later Friday  morning at which time he was taken into custody on charges of DUI and other traffic related offenses.  He was lodged in the Russell County Jail.  That crash occurred at 2:59 a.m. near the Lakewood Country Club.
