
Through good times and bad, during nailbiters and blowouts, the Russell County Laker Cheerleaders always keep their spirits high and Laker fans motivated!
The Russell County Lakers improved to 20-3 on the season with an opening round district tournament win over Cumberland County Monday night in Albany, final score of 66 to 46. The Laker boys led by two at halftime and trailed early in the third quarter by four, but fought back and pulled away for the 20 point victory. Robbie Bell had 19 points, Bryson McFall had 18, and Tyler Robertson had 14 to lead the Lakers, who now advance to the district championship game on Friday night at 7pm at Clinton County High School. The Laker boys will play the winner of Clinton County and Metcalfe County who will play Tuesday night. Also Tuesday night, the Lady Lakers will play Metcalfe County at 6:00 p.m. at Clinton County High, with the winner advancing to the girls district championship game on Thursday night against Clinton County Lady Dawgs who defeated Cumberland County girls Monday night by 20 points.
