Another Meth Lab Busted By RCSO

Another “meth lab” has been seized by local law enforcement officers.  Russell County Sheriff Larry Bennett told WJRS NEWS that an “active meth lab” was discovered Sunday evening by Deputy Sheriff Lee Smith who was investigating a complaint of a strong chemical odor.  The clandestine lab was found at the residence of Lee Lawless, Jr., age 31, located at 3631 Hwy. 92 West.  Lawless was charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and lodged in the Russell County Jail.  A State Police Hazardous Materials Team was called in to dismantle and dispose of the lab.  Deputies Clete McAnich and Nick Bertram assisted in the investigation.  Sheriff Bennett ask that anyone noticing a strong chemical odor in their neighborhood, or other suspicious activity, call his office at 343-2191.
