Winter Storm Dumps More Than Half Foot of Snow on Russell County and South-Central KY

DPP262734935A major winter storm dumped more than a half foot of snow on Russell County and most parts of south-central Kentucky from just after 2:00 p.m. Friday through the middle of the day Saturday.  Just over 6 inches of snow was recorded at WJRS in the Middletown community with listeners reporting 7 inches of snow outside their homes in the Bryan, Pleasant Hill and Salem communities.  Although sunshine was prevalent Sunday with temperatures in the mid 30s, and despite tireless efforts by city, county and state highway crews over the weekend, most secondary roads remain slick and hazardous resulting in classes being cancelled Monday for Russell County students.
