KSP/RCSO Seize Pounds of Marijuana and Ounces of Suspected Cocaine; One Charged With Trafficking

A young Russell County man was arrested early Sunday morning on drug related charges.  According to State Police, 20 year old Hunter Tarter was taken into custody at 4:35 a.m. after State and local law enforcement officers served a search warrant at his residence located at 157 J. S. Wilson Road.  Trooper Martin Wesley told WJRS NEWS several pounds of processed marijuana and several ounces of “suspected cocaine” was seized during the search.  Tarter was lodged in the Russell County Jail on charges of Trafficking In Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Trooper Wesley says additional charges are likely when the case is presented to the Russell County Grand Jury.  Trooper Wesley and his K-9 Klaus were assisted by Deputies Tim Pierce and Jeremy England.
