RCH Auxiliary’s “Dancing With The Stars”
Saturday, April 18, 2009 — The 2nd annual “Dancing With The Stars” sponsored by the Russell County Hospital Auxiliary was held tonight at the Russell County High School. The event attracted a few hundred spectators at $5 each with all proceeds going to further the many services provided daily by the RCH Auxiliary. The RCH Auxiliary has been serving the local hospital since 1981 and currently has approximately 50 volunteer members. Tonight’s “Dancing With The Stars” competition featured three couples in the adult division, three couples in the new “Little Stars” division, as well as two special performances by students from Jamestown Elementary’s 4th and 6th grades. Participants included Greg Hammond & Kim Haydon (1st place); Nick & Jamie Shearer, and Tony Bloyd & Teresa Spaw. Little Stars participants included Blake Bolin & Sophie Shearer, Luke Popplewell & Elayna Popplewell, and Clay & Hannah Pippen.
